The Supranational Interpretation of the Rule of Law

Authors

János Bóka (ed)

Abstract

The book addresses the challenges of the supranationalisation of the rule of law in different supranational organisations from the perspective of selected Central European countries. Given the Central European focus, the book dedicates particular attention to recent development and challenges in the European Union and its competencies in the context of national sovereignty and the hierarchy of institutions controlling the rule of law. In addition to the critical analysis of the process of supranationalisation, the volume also attempts to provide a comparative perspective on the development of the interpretation, enforcement, and sanctioning regime of the supranationalising concept of the rule of law by highlighting recent trends and development directions of such processes in the region.
